- AUDIENCES -

Audiences. Are they created, or are they pre-existing? I believe that they are a little bit of both. But mostly pre-existing. And I'm probably right because I'm some guy on the internet.

Audiences are mostly pre-existing because, (Not to be too stereotypical, but...) most people grow up with their values and beliefs set by the time they are teenagers. So somebody who grew up watching movies and cartoons, they are a pre-existing audience for ads that use elements from older cartoons or movies. Like this commercial:


But then there are audiences that have to be created with new products. When something like 3D TV's came out, people had never heard of hem before, so they didn't know that they wanted them until after they saw an ad that made them change their minds. See this Samsung ad:
